Sensations At Coney Island

September 24, 2009

The 2009 Coney Island Film Festival will feature my latest animation ‘Sensations of the Season’.

sensations-of-the-season-poster

This is really exciting as the theme of this animation is based around a freak show … so to be shown at Coney Island (which is the last place in the USA where you can experience the thrill of a traditional ten-in-one circus sideshow) makes it a real hoot.

If you don’t already know .. ‘Sensations of the Season’ is an animated accompliment I made for the bizarre music of Onethirtyeight.

We are featured on there press release HERE.

Please all come along and see ‘Sensations of the Season’ at it’s second public showing in the world!

Danny Silk Has Guide Award Nomination !

September 21, 2008

My second animation ‘Danny Silk : Intergalactic Exterminator‘ has been nominated for Best Local Film – as part of the Portsmouth News’s Guide Awards thingy.

I entered my animation in to something called Shorts Cut.. showcasing local short film makers work at the Kings Theatre Southsea. It was excepted and shown at the beginning of this month - I was very pleased to see one of my films being shown on a big screen publicly for the first time. Little did I imagine that it would then get nominated for best local film and be shown again as part of the Portsmouth film festival

It’s lovely when your work gets some recognition .. and I’m excited at seeing my film at a public viewing again.

Find out more at Portsmouth Screen or vote HERE.

Danny Silk : Intergalactic Exterminator

February 27, 2008

Well it’s been a year and a half since my last animation ‘Infestation of the Nutty Joes’ .. but my second is finally finished and HERE ! Danny Silk : Intergalactic Exterminator - Hired by the Intergalactic Planet Corporation, Danny Silk’s job is to wipe clean all alien  Planets for human re-habitation. Unfortunately Danny has a strong romantic side, and just can’t turn down an attractive alien life form.. no matter what the consequences. This short has had to overcome a lot of hurdles to be made. Moving home, changing jobs and computers braking down … it’s been a struggle at times, but we’ve learnt a lot and I am immensely pleased with the final outcome. Watch below..   Better get started on my next then.

Infestation of the Nutty Joe’s

November 16, 2007

As this is my first post and a bit of a test, I thought I’d post one of my own animations… It is my first serious animation film (completed in 2006) and has been on YouTube for over a year now collecting some very flattering comments (thank you all). I was very new to the wacky world of stop motion animation when I made this, but was more than pleased with how it all turned out. I’ve since been working on another short animation titled ‘Danny Silk : Intergalactic Exterminator’ which I hope to be completed by the new year.  Hope you enjoy x
