Horror Plops

Horror Plops is my latest comic strip … you can see some at my Flickr account HERE.

This is how a strip comes together..

First I sketch it out roughly on A3 paper.

Then when I am happy with what I have come up with .. I’ll ink in the lines.

I scan it one half at a time (due to an A4 sized scanner) and merge it all together in photoshop. All that’s left is to change the colours using the paint bucket tool.

All done.

Animators Diary : Creepy Treats Backwards

I am very close to completing the filming of episode one of Creepy Treats. My approach has been very different this time when filming. In the past I would film the episode/short in sequence .. so you would maybe see that my animation technique would improve as the film played out. This time I decided to film all the sequences involving the more complicated set first .. and then change to the simpler set last. This means that I have already filmed the ending of episode one and am yet to film the beginning. I am therefore interested in seeing the final episode all edited together and look forward to finding out if it all flows together seamlessly. I have started editing together the footage that I have already filmed and so far it is all looking good. My schedule has been thrown out the window somewhat though … I had planned to spend four months animating each episode .. we are five months into the year and I am still animating episode one! But I don’t mind too much .. even if the episodes do take me longer to film … I feel it will be worth the hard work and wait.

Again I wish I could say more about the episode, but fear I will give too much away and spoil it for you. Best not to say anything I think.
